- Mother Jones reports about an upcoming Iraqi deal set for next month. I wonder if it'll make it that far, or if Nico didn't plan on this happening (or if this is exactly what he planned on):
- The Iraqi oil deal set to go before the country's parliament next month could spell the end of the country as a nation state, and signals a major Bush victory in the war. The proposed law not only opens the door to the big international oil companies, but offers them lucrative contract deals, and even a place on the national oil board that will run the industry.

- I think he just wanted to be part of the conversation and be helpful but mainly show off, he sure regretted it when some of us got all over him and wanted to know why, he wouldn't say. Just another weird guy in a snowed in airport I thought, until he tracked down GT and tried to scare us off it. Maybe just another weird paranoid guy, I don't want to know. What I really wanted to say though was that Iraq oil deal thing, man that really creeps me out, especially since it was so _not_ in the news, it's like the real coup, my nephew is over there making sure humvees get full tanks while people shoot at him so that the next S.O. annual report is another back slapping good old boy have an illegal cuban stogie rave? The other day at breakfast with a contractor I go 'you know they're signing some sort of deal in Iraq so that the oil companies can be the boss of everyone?' Blank stare. Where's my waitress? Thanks for noticing mordy, I was feeling very alone.
